JVP website LankaTruth reports that General will contest general election with JVP using symbol "trophy". They are so disappointed about UNP contesting separately using symbol "Elephant". They say it is unethical for UNP to contest alone while SF is in jail.
Why JVP can't contest under "elephant" symbol. Symbol is symbol nothing else. What matters is policies, if they have any. This is another attempt to mislead masses. They don't want to marry UNP, but want to live together with them. Hope they will learn a lesson this time.

If a symbol is just a symbol, in your own words, why can't the UNP contest under the swan symbol or even under the bell symbol??
Didn't they did that in presidential elections?
So why have they changed now? This will just serve to confuse the voters more and split the votes in favour of MR
What is the problem with JVP contesting under elephant? UNP has the main vote bank. If they contest under swan or rabbit or something else they will loose the control over the party (it was obvious in presidential elections). Ranil will also lose the control too. So UNP has the right of retaining the party name/symbol. Others has to join them if they don't want to split the vote base.
UPFA was doing that. JVP contest under "betel leaf" in 2004. So what is their problem with "elephant" under the name "UNF". That is a joke. who are they trying to cheat.
